FORWARD OPERATING BASE LOYALTY, Iraq – Six civilians were wounded by a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device Dec. 12 in eastern Baghdad.

Following the detonation, Soldiers with 2nd Combined Arms Battalion, 69th Infantry Regiment sealed off the area and assisted in the aftermath of the attack.

Iraqi first responders treated the wounded and transported them to a medical facility for treatment.

“Attacks such as these against innocent civilians are by those who are trying to prevent the peace and stability Iraqi citizens deserve,” said Lt. Col. Scott R. Bleichwehl, public affairs officer for Multi-National Division – Baghdad.
