Insurgent attack kills 3, wounds 7 in Salah ad Din

Multi-National Division – North PAO

TIKRIT, Iraq – A vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated in front of a building in Tikrit, Salah ad Din Province, killing three Iraqi civilians and wounding seven others May 6.

All were taken to the Tikrit Teaching Hospital.

“Although overall attacks have decreased dramatically and AQI has no stronghold left, insurgents continue to desperately hurt civilians in an attempt to maintain an influence in the area,” said Capt. Stephen Bomar, U.S. military spokesman in northern Iraq.
