FORWARD OPERATING BASE HAMMER — Concerned Local Citizens (CLC) in Sabbah Nissan, a village southeast of Baghdad, turned in 123 20 mm rounds to Soldiers of Battery A, 1st Battalion, 10th Field Artillery, during a recent visit by the Soldiers to the CLCs headquarters.  This was the fourth cache the CLC group has handed over to Battery A in the past two weeks.

“The Concerned Local Citizens have been very focused on finding these caches and bringing them to us,” said Capt. Chas Cannon, from Moultrie, Ga., commander of Battery A. “We are very pleased with the success they are having getting these weapons out of the hands of insurgents attempting to operate in this area.”

The 1-10th FA Regt. is assigned to the 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, from Fort Benning, Ga., and has been deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom since March 2007.
