MND-B Soldiers capture EFP-making materials in Aamel

Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO

BAGHDAD – Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldiers seized bomb-making materials Oct. 23 during a security patrol in the Rashid district of southern Baghdad.

At approximately 6:30 a.m., responding to a tip, Soldiers of Company A, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, MND-B, conducting a security patrol in the Aamel community, seized 27 copper plates suspected to be used for explosively formed projectilesAn explosives ordnance disposal team responded to handle the bomb-making materials.

“Many of the successes within the Rashid district can be attributed to the hard work of the Soldiers of the 1st ‘Raider’ Brigade, working alongside their Iraqi Security Forces counterparts to maintain security in southern Baghdad,” said Maj. Dave Olson, 1st BCT Spokesman, 4th Inf. Div., MND-B. “The security in Rashid is at an all-time high, and that is because the 1st ‘Raider’ Brigade sets the example for progress, and the ISF remain committed to stopping the criminals operating in the Rashid district plus the people trust us.”
