Multi-National Corps – Iraq Public Affairs Office, Camp Victory APO AE 09342 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE RELEASE No. 20080829-03 Aug. 29, 2008 MND-B Soldiers capture suspected SGCs Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO FORWARD OPERATING BASE FALCON, Iraq – Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldiers discovered unexploded ordnance and detained three suspected Special Groups criminals Aug. 28 in the Rashid district of southern Baghdad.
At approximately 10 p.m., Soldiers from Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, MND-B, detained three suspected SGCs during an operation based on military intelligence in the Aamel community. The patrol returned to a combat outpost with the detainees to conduct additional questioning. “There is no room for aI-Qaeda, Special Groups criminals or militias in the Rashid district,” said Maj. Dave Olson, 1st BCT spokesperson, 4th Inf.
