MND-CS Soldiers attacked

Multi-National Division – Central South PAO

CAMP ECHO, Iraq –Camp Echo, a Coalition Forces base in the Iskan district of Diwaniyah, was attacked Oct. 15 by mortar and small-arms fire.

The attack wounded two MND-CS Soldiers, killed four civilians and injured an additional 12 civilians.

Coalition and Iraqi Security Forces engaged the attackers who fled to a wooded area near the base. The attackers remain at large.

The wounded civilians were transported to a hospital in Diwaniyah.
