Statement from Multi-National Force-Iraq condemning bridge attacks in Al Anbar

BAGHDAD, Iraq – In two separate instances in Al Anbar Province the evening of July 18, bridges were attacked using vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices.  The first attack took place northwest of Udasiyah and the second happened west of Haglaniyah. 

Multi-National Force-Iraq joins the Iraqi people in condemning these attacks.  It is another example of the nature of Al Qaeda’s senseless violence that destroys roads and bridges and undermines the economy and prosperity of the Iraqi people.

The coalition is assisting Iraqi authorities in repairing this senseless damage and alternate routes have already been established for traffic having to bypass the damaged bridges.
