WaPo gets it, so why don’t 216 Democrats and a couple of Republicans?

"Altogether the House Democratic leadership has come up with more than $20 billion in new spending, much of it wasteful subsidies to agriculture or pork barrel projects aimed at individual members of Congress. At the tail of all of this logrolling and political bribery lies this stinger: Representatives who support the bill — for whatever reason — will be voting to require that all U.S. combat troops leave Iraq by August 2008, regardless of what happens during the next 17 months or whether U.S. commanders believe a pullout at that moment protects or endangers U.S. national security, not to mention the thousands of American trainers and Special Forces troops who would remain behind."

The Leftinistra allover Moonbat Blogdom are counting this as a "landslide victory".

Little do they know that this WILL NOT pass the Senate and IF by chance it does, it WON'T make it by the veto pen.

This goes to show ALL just howmuch the Leftinistra desire strongly to wave the White Flag of Cowardice under fire.

Hang them all.

Jones of NC and Gilchrest of who-knows-where, based on the list of yea votes.

I may have to move to vote against at least one of them.
The Two Republicans
written by SD, March 23, 2007
So it was the two Republicans that jumped ship that gave Pelosi the votes she needed.

THEY need some serious political ass kicking.

Gilchrest is from Maryland. His office (link on name) claims that he voted for it because he thought it was the only way to get funds to the troops. Why the heck it didn't occur to him that voting this down would have meant a turn around of less time than a veto, I can't say; I've never lived in Maryland, so I've got no idea about him. Vote Smart says that the Non-Com Officer Association has given him high rankings the last couple of years, so maybe he was telling the truth, even if it wasn't the best move politically.
But Snooper, I have to disagree. They've GOT to know that it'll get veto'd. I also have to think that they've EARNED their dismal approval rating: they're raiding the treasury for everything, setting the stage for a genocide, putting prouvedly bribable officials on Homeland Security, and basically acted like knuckleheads all the way around.
Or maybe not...

Either way you look at it...

It is true that the Senate resolution (not yet heard but very similar)has yet to be agreed into, and that the House Bill is a prime example as to how the House will proceed with business. However, no matter how you look at it, this is a victory for the terrorists and insurgents in and out of Iraq. This my friends is the "open and transparent" congress that the Dems have promised. I hope that they understand what they have done and how much this has slammed the troops and their efforts.
Inane House bill...
written by Ann Cain MS, March 23, 2007
. Putting this inane bill forward is an obvious ploy to delay funding to our fighting men and women-to FORCE a retreat from Iraq.
It's been hard for me to believe that seemingly intelligent men and women are practicing such blatant intellectual dishonesty about terrorism/the war. But then, their actions and practiced rhetoric says otherwise.
I asked myself how one can purposefully put our military in further danger of injury or death because of irrational hate of President Bush and a desire for political power? It makes me heartsick to know there are people in our government willing to see American lives lost, to aid an evil enemy, and further destroy whatever honor the word of this country to another means globally. Should Democrats “win” their desire, the word of the United States will mean NOTHING, not abroad, and perhaps not even here at home.
I predict that if this bill should reach the president's desk (I don't think it will) and he has to veto it, the Democrats will say the President cut off funds to the troops, not them.
Shame on the Democrats!

One of the most abomidable displays of treasonous behavior in the halls of congress in all of America's history without a doubt was that Dem celebration we all witnessed yesterday.
Recall? Sanctions?
written by Gullspirit, March 24, 2007
Is there a procedure (possibility?) for organizing a sanction against those who voted for this bill?

They aren't phased by email, phone calls or petitions ---- what other option(s) do we have?

YouTube Ads!
written by Kateri E. Jordan, PLS, PNPA, March 28, 2007
In the Forum Board threads, there's a group trying to put together a set of powerful ads to demonstrate this farce. If people don't understand intellectually and in writing, perhaps they'll respond to the visual images. Plaster them all over YouTube and make sure the RNC uses them during elections of these imposters! Use them as an "October Surprise" of our own, and the closer to elections, the better!!!
A Victory for Defeat

The military brilliance on display in the well of the Senate was inspiring. It brought me to tears, in fact.

How do I send my husband over there, AGAIN, to sleep in the dirt when he knows he is there for the express purpose of delivering a white flag from the Democrats?

Morale is in the toilet already, thank you very much Nonni, and your tactical acumen will surely convince the man-jammied nutcakes to pack up their marbles and go back under their rocks.

{America's Chamberlain Moment was brought to you by Chuck Hagel and the defeatist friends of Nonni Pelosi.}

How many of the Dems who voted for the bill are in GOP disctricts ? It will be interesting to see how many Dems are in danger of losing their seats in 2 years and how they voted on this bill
